Tanya became proficient as a dental assistant for a number of years before attaining her degree in dental hygiene. She graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene in 2008. Tanya’s thorough but gentle hands and efficiency are great assets to our practice.
She is wonderful at patient education and gives great tips on improving patient home-care techniques. Tanya also likes to find clever ways to make our patients feel comfortable while having their teeth cleaned. She has been known to offer such things as a blanket, neck pillow, warm water, topical anesthetic, or lip moisturizer. She is an expert at administering local anesthetic and intraoral photography.
Tanya grew up in Kihei on the island of Maui, Hawaii. She is the proud parent of two Labrador dogs. During her free time, you will find her at the beach with her dogs or training for half marathons. In the past three years, she has completed more than ten half marathons and one full marathon. Tanya aspires to do the New York Marathon someday.
